The white peony extract is derived from the root of Paeonia lactiflora pall., a plant of the Ranunculaceae family. Paeonia is a perennial herb. The roots are stout and the branches are dark brown. There are several flowers, stem tips and leaf axils, sometimes only one tip opens.
